The FM-200 fire suppression system (HFC-227ea) includes FM-200 fire extinguishing agents compressed at 42 bar at 21°C. The FM-200 cylinders have capacities of 82.5L and 140L.
Each cylinder comes with a standard pressure gauge. Depending on design requirements, a pressure gauge with monitoring contacts can be used to monitor cylinder pressure from the system. The cylinder pressure will be monitored through the fire alarm system, providing error notifications when the pressure drops below a certain level.
The system operates as follows: when a discharge signal is received from the fire alarm and control system, the solenoid valve will activate the discharge of the cylinder, releasing 1L of CO2 (0.65kg), and the pressure from the cylinder will open the zone selection valve (if applicable) and activate the FM-200 discharge through the piping system and nozzles. If the system consists of only one FM-200 cylinder, the solenoid valve can be used to activate the cylinder without needing a discharge cylinder.
