General Introduction to the N2 SNS-100 IG-100 Fire Suppression System

1. Overview

The N2 SNS-100 IG-100 fire suppression system consists of nitrogen (N2) cylinders compressed at pressures of 200 bar, 280 bar, or 300 bar at 15°C. Each cylinder has a capacity of 84L and is equipped with a valve that includes a pressure reduction function, allowing the discharge pressure to be maintained between 60 bar and 80 bar without the need for an external pressure regulator.

The cylinder comes with a standard pressure gauge. For design requirements, an optional pressure gauge with monitoring contacts can be used to monitor the cylinder pressure from the system. The cylinder pressure will be monitored through the fire alarm system, providing error notifications when the pressure drops below a certain level.

2. Operation

The system operates as follows: when a discharge signal is received from the fire alarm and control system, the solenoid valve will activate the discharge of a 5.1L cylinder at 95 bar. The pressure from the discharge cylinder will open the zone selection valve (if applicable) and activate the 84L nitrogen cylinders to release fire extinguishing gas through the piping system and nozzles. Nitrogen is a naturally occurring gas in the atmosphere, safe for use in occupied areas, and does not have adverse environmental effects.
